Social Outreach Committee works to serve our community!

Mother Hubbard's Cupboard: Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard's mission is to serve the hungry in the Wilmington area through distribution of emergency food. This service is provided without discrimination by volunteers in collaboration with community organizations and businesses with care to preserve the dignity of the individuals served.
Special Pedals: Special Pedals Inc. is a 501c(3) non-profit bike shop working towards an inclusive community where adults with disabilities are employed at jobs that offer equitable hours, pay, and quality of life. We provide individualized training and employment opportunities for adults with neurodiversities in a variety of fields. Our team of volunteer mentors have a diverse background of experience in Special Education, Marketing, Art, and Bicycle Mechanics. Each volunteer mentor works to teach our participants new skills to help them be more successful in the workforce.
New Hanover County Community Remembrance Project: This organization recognizes the victims, survivors, and descendants of racial terror violence. We provide the truth about the massacre and coup in Wilmington on 11/10/1898 and identify the ongoing legacy of racial terror in our community. This group works with the Equal Justice Initiative to provide education about historical and ongoing racial and social injustice.
Vigilant Hope: We partner with all types of organizations and individuals, but our first focus is equipping the local church to demonstrate God’s love by pursuing mercy and justice in their city.
Kids Making it: Kids Making It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit youth woodworking program that teaches valuable vocational, entrepreneurial and life skills to at-risk, low income and disadvantaged youth. Our goal for every student we serve is for them to stay in school, stay out of trouble, and transition successfully into either the workplace or college.
Members of Social Outreach also coordinate Good Samaritan donations, provide in home communion, and send cards to individuals within the church.
